Cookie and Storage Policy

Last updated: February 16, 2026

This Policy describes the rules for using cookies, browser localStorage/sessionStorage, and equivalent client-side data storage mechanisms within the Lexense website and web application.

1. What This Document Covers

This Policy describes the rules for using: - cookies, - browser localStorage/sessionStorage, - equivalent client-side data storage mechanisms, within the Lexense website and web application.

2. Data Controller

The controller of data is: Consulting Wojciech Bajer, registered address: Kokota 23, 41-400 Mysłowice, Silesian Voivodeship, Poland, NIP (Tax ID): 2220919309, REGON: 388306534, authorized representative: Wojciech Bajer, contact: support@lexense.ai.

3. What Are Cookies and Storage

1. Cookies are small files stored on the User's device. 2. Storage (e.g., localStorage) is a browser mechanism that allows storing data on the User's side. 3. These mechanisms help maintain sessions, preferences, and security.

4. What Data May Be Technically Stored

In the current project architecture, the following may be used: 1. Data necessary for login/session in the web application: access token and refresh token (localStorage), session helper data. 2. Functional data: theme/interface preference, local drafts and form state, waitlist signup state (e.g., locally stored email in the browser). 3. Analytics data (only with User consent): Microsoft Clarity identifiers and telemetry data, Clarity cookies and scripts are loaded only after the User gives consent in the cookie banner.

5. Purposes of Use

Cookie/storage mechanisms are used for: 1. Essential Service operation: session maintenance, authorization, security and integrity. 2. Functional purposes: remembering User preferences. 3. Analytics (only with consent): analyzing product usage and improving UX.

6. Legal Bases

1. Cookies/storage essential for service provision — legal basis: necessity for contract performance and legitimate interest of the controller. No User consent required. 2. Analytics or optional cookies/storage — legal basis: User consent (Art. 173 of the Telecommunications Law, ePrivacy Directive). These are activated only after consent is given in the cookie banner.

7. Managing Settings

The User may: 1. Give or refuse consent for optional cookies via the cookie banner displayed on the first visit to the website. 2. Change cookie preferences at any time — a link to cookie settings is available in the website footer. 3. Delete cookies/storage in browser settings. 4. Restrict cookie saving through the browser. 5. Use private/incognito mode (with functional limitations). Withdrawing consent for analytics cookies is as easy as granting it. Restricting essential cookies/storage may cause the application to malfunction.

8. Retention Period

1. Session cookies expire at the end of the browser session. 2. Data in localStorage is stored until: logout, manual deletion by the User, or overwriting/deletion by the application. 3. Analytics cookies (Microsoft Clarity) — in accordance with the provider's policy, generally up to 1 year.

9. Third Parties

For analytics tools or external scripts, technical data may be processed by the providers of those tools under their own terms, in particular: - Microsoft Clarity — user behavior analytics on the website. Microsoft Privacy Statement: https://privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement Third-party cookies are loaded only after the User gives consent.

10. Policy Changes

This Policy may be updated when: - product features change, - applicable law changes, - new technical tools are deployed. The current version is published with the date and version number.
